Ultra low-power lighting solutions

LEDs + textiles = ?

I’ve been thinking recently about combining two loves of mine. I can’t tell if it’s a brilliant idea, or if it’s doomed to failure. Sometimes these things work (take mint choc chip ice cream), and sometimes it just ruins both things. (Have you ever tried eating aforementioned ice cream while cycling? It’s not the same.)

Specifically, I’m thinking about combining LEDs and textiles.

Some people have already done it, like Renace Turner on Flickr, who took the photo below. I’ve been wondering about LED clothing fit for clubs…I’m thinking UV, colour change, LEDs along seams. And LED knitwear. ‘Cause who wouldn’t want a light-up scarf for Christmas?
